  • Hello,

My name is Elizabeth Luttrell and I am the Public Relations Coordinator at the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, Inc.

Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, Inc. (GLAD) is celebrating our 10th Annual GLAD Benefit at the world-famous House of Blues, Sunset Strip on Sunday, September 30 from 6-10 p.m. hosted by celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves. As you know, this benefit fundraiser spotlights GLAD’s services and the deaf/hard of hearing community as well as raise awareness about hearing loss.

We are asking if you would be willing to submit a brief video remarking on your experience with GLAD, as past host at GLAD’s House of Blues benefit, the impact/benefit you see GLAD has on the community, the impact/benefit GLAD has had for you personally (if applicable) and how you are involved with the deaf/hard of hearing community today (if applicable). Your video would be a part of a reel of testimonials, etc. that would be shown during the first hour of the evening before the performances start.

Ideally, the video would be no more than 5 minutes. If you are willing to do the video, then please send it to me by September 10 so I can caption the video (unless you are able to do that). Any questions, please contact me at eluttrell@gladinc.org or 323-892-2109 between 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Please do visit GLAD’s House of Blues page (http://www.gladinc.org/events/house-of-blues) for more information.

    Sincerely,

    Elizabeth Luttrell

  • I had the opportunity to see your work in “Weeds” and then “Jericho” … I really enjoyed your work in “The Hammer” …

If we can find a decent script, we would love to talk to you … We are a very small independent film company … We are just getting started “in the biz” …

However, we are looking for a decent script that is new and original … Long story short, we would like to stay in contact … Do you have a contact that we can have an initial discussion?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I sent a message to Shoshannah on Facebook but it doesn’t appear to have been read. I wanted to reach out to her to see if she is aware of a project currently trying to raise funds on Kickstarter. It is by an organization called Veditz. They are creating the 1st mobile, online, and interactive video chat tutoring & practice platform for the Deaf and others learning signed languages. This platform will allow access to language for people that may be isolated otherwise. In addition to being a valuable tool for Deaf people to learn signed languages it will also allow hearing people who want to learn signed languages access so that they can communicate with the Deaf community. As you may be aware, most Deaf children are born to hearing parents and this tool would allow the parents to practice signing so that they can communicate with their children as well. It also will provide certified tutors to assist Deaf students with other subjects in signed languages. I say signed languages because initially it will start with ASL but they will be adding other signed languages such as British, Chinese, and Spanish. This truly will be a global solution to a global problem. It will connect people from all over the world. I do not work for Veditz, I just really believe in this project and have backed it on Kickstarter. I noticed that they are a long way off from reaching their goal and want to do everything I can to help them make this a reality. They really could use some support from people that have the attention of fans everywhere. People who believe in the mission, who have a vested interest in signed languages, people like Shoshannah. Please, I urge you, share this opportunity with Shoshannah because time is ticking and we can’t let this slip through our fingers.
